John Barry

I've just been watching my recording of a documentary about the modern day composer John Barry. What lovely haunting music he wrote. Out Of Africa, Somewhere In Time, The Ipcress File, Dances With Wolves, Walkabout to name just a few. Do you have a favourite modern day composer?

Barry was quite a prolific composer wasn't he and some of his music is hauntingly beautiful .
There was a programme about him on the radio fairly recently.

It amazes me how some people can contribute so much yet be relatively unknown. I don't have a favourite modern composer because I don't know of any tbh.

John Barry is my favourite but i also enjoy Michael Nyman he did the soundtrack for the film The Piano my favourite piece of his music is (Chasing Sheep Is Best Left To The Shepherds). It may sound a strange title but listen to it on YouTube and i am sure you will be pleasantly surprised.
Hopefully some kind soul will download it on here for me

Hans Zimmer is pretty good, not as prolific as John Barry.

Enricho Moriconi is best know for his compositions that formed the soundtracks of many Westerns.

He also wrote the soundtrack for the Film 'The Mission'.
