Re: Water or wine?

but still on the theme of general health and moving off water and wine for a minute - longitudinal research has shown us that our eating habits are aligned with our ancestors going back a long way. but what about behavioral traits ? can you identify and behaviors that you grandparents or even great grandparent were reputed to have that still show a trait in you. My grandparents [paternal] were know to be mean spirited [see I'm still keeping the wine going Mr P] and I would admit that it has come through to me.

Re: Water or wine?

Well, I am here to report that the River Thames was murky.
I am not going to contemplate what was floating in it, well apart from the boats.

There are some ruins of an old Castle in the next town to mine.
There is a part that juts out over the river. I was curious about this and asked the local historian what it was. A toilet he told me!!!
Now I understand why there are so many breweries and old pubs.
I also understand that Purewell got its name because of the dirty river Stour!

Now I must think about wine.

Drink it, don't think it. That's my motto.

A toilet over the river? How convenient. Is that where the breweries were drawing their water from?

Yes way back.
I was thinking about fortified wine - I think it is closely guarded.
