Thank for that ld I can see why they do it that case. But some adaptions change endings or characters to such an extent it's like a different story that I can't forgive.

As an example, one of the scenes in the second series shows a room with frescos on the walls. All of these were hand painted just for this one scene which lasts just a few minutes.

I've confused my self I started reading the book and got slightly ahead of the tv series so I've stopped reading the book as I was so confused I couldn't make sense of either.

Just finished watching series three on DVD.

I did really enjoy it but not as much as one & two. I thought the Jacobite story more interesting than sailing to Jamaica. It seems to have lost its way slightly although I realise it's following the books.

It's a shame certain characters are no longer around, one in particular who was excellent in the part.

Series four should be released in September.
