Brexit Talks New Agenda.

It is reported in the Mail that the agenda for this round of talks looks very thin.

It could be summed up quickly as - We tell you our demands, and you agree.

Also noticing the John Major is now having his 5 pence .

Being a 'remainer' , he is now calling for Universal Credit to be dropped. Would that have anything to do with the fact that EU nationals arriving in UK will not be eligible for Universal Credit ?
That could well be the reason the stats (depending on which stats) show the migrant population has decreased and we have more jobs for our own. Surely that's a good thing ?

Each of these ex party leaders etc are as devious and disruptive to smooth negotiations .

Re: Brexit Talks New Agenda.

I am sick of hearing ''Those who voted to leave didn't know what they were voting for '' I heard it twice from speakers on the Today programme this morning one was Sturgeon the other Clegg (who is busy pushing his book again) .

It is so patronising I want to ring the BBC and say tell those people I knew exactly what I was voting for, to get out of the EU as quickly as possible.
I thought Clegg lost his seat in the election, that didn't say much about his constituents views on his opinions. I wish he would get off my radio.

Anyone who thinks, or even wonders, whether Major's concern about UC has anything to do with migrant benefit clearly knows nothing about the effect the implementation of the flawed system is having on anyone who is unfortunate enough to depend on it, no matter where they were born.

There's been plenty about it in the media, especially this last couple of weeks, the Citizens advice produced a report on the problems they see with it on a regular basis and calls have been made from many quarters for the implementation to stop until some of the issues have been addressed. I might start a new thread about it.

No, the EU or support of the EU can't be blamed for the Universal Credit system which seems designed to punish the poor or low income.

So you all knew you were voting for this horrendous mess that we are in now and getting deeper in it every day?

We knew there would be pain but hope it will be worth it in the end.

That's been the way all along, Barnier and the EU representatives are not there to negotiate they are there to implement a pre determined set of demands . My guess is they will sit tight believing we won't 'just walk' and if they wait long enough we will concede to their demands.

We should have laid down our set agenda from the beginning with a take it or leave it and set a date for them to decide giving us time to implement a no deal departure using the money we have offered the EU as part of our leaving.
That might have helped to concentrate a few EU minds .
