Why not sell them to North Korea? Very similar regime to Saudi Arabia.

No point in making 'em if you can't sell 'em

I'd say the 8000 that remain employed will benefit....if you don't trim the expenditure then all would end up unemployed.......some people can't see the wood for the trees.
I doubt he's ever ran or managed a company, so would have no idea. Companies don't have bottomless pits of money.

Yet another unnecessary comment from one of the cabal.

It is nearer to 2000 jobs now.
Both Typhoon and Hawk production lines will stay open for now, but for how much longer?
BAE needs a clear signal from its main customer, the Ministry of Defence, as to what comes next after the F-35.
Unions have already criticised the government for buying more military equipment from the US.
While the UK now has an industrial strategy to sustain the production of warships in the UK, it does not appear to have a similar strategy for the air defence sector.

Re: BAE Systems Axe 1000 Jobs

This really made me chuckle...
More than a bit rich of Labour to condemn today’s BAE job losses as “truly appalling” and attack the government for not doing more to protect the defence industry. Only last month Emily Thornberry called for a clampdown on the very type of export deals BAE rely on to protect jobs. In May John McDonnell threatened to take away BAE’s Navy contracts. BAE make Britain’s Trident subs, which Corbyn wants to scrap. What would all of that do for BAE jobs?
QUOTE from Order Order

How odd..Labour are anti BAE.

Any comments from the commies on here?

BAe systems has a lot of skill and expertise which can be diverted into peaceful and useful manufactured objects - f'r instance we need to update our rail system. Their skills and expertise can also be used to build more passenger aircraft too (putting Boeing's nose even further out of joint).
