I feel your loss - I had one of my cats for 22 years - she survived road accidents, frequent changes of address and skin cancer but succumbed to a heart condition .....

For several years thereafter I'd occasionally see her out of the corner of my eye, but when I turned, she'd gone .....

Yes, Omah. I don't believe in life after death, but I'd so much like to see Poppy in the same way. I suppose that's our minds wishing for what cannot be.

so sorry to read you post about your cat, it is one of the toughest things to get over, a family pet no longer with us. Having had many pass on, I too have to admit to shedding a tear or two, so your not alone. Even now I get upset thinking about them

I am always surprised what a huge hole it leaves in the family group, something not realised while still alive.

At the risk of sounding a little pathetic, we have never had children and this cat was our substitute child.

I am so sorry to read you have lost Poppy JBR, I know just how you are feeling. I lost my cat Cassie aged 20 last year and my tears also flowed

I totally understand JBR and what a great substitute they make.
I am so sorry that you had to say goodbye to Poppy, but I am sure she has left you with many happy memories.

Oh i'm so sorry to hear that JBR, you must remember the happy days with her and she lived to a ripe old age, I cried my eyes out when our cat died and he was only 12 years old. R.I.P Little Poppy.
