Yes darlin' - I will.
The sahara is a vast desert along the entire North African coast (from South West, through South to South East).
'Ophelia' was also a 'big' storm some 5 - 600 miles across. As it progressed North and North-West, it came close enough to the AAfrican coast to affect the winds blowing off the Sahara desert and managed to suck up a lot of the sand and dust that was blowing off the desert. Caught up in its storm the dust whirled round and round circling the 'eye' of Ophelia, but like all things that whirl, centrifugal forces come into play and some of the dust was pushed to the outer fringes of Ophelia - hence although only on the edge of this storm system it affected the sunlight and was sufficient to darken the sky with its clouds of dust too.
