'Maudie' Inspirational
'Maudie' an inspirational film.A true story about the life of Maud Lewis a Canadian Folk Artist Born 1903 died 1970.
Maud was born in Nova Scotia and was born with Rheumatoid Arthritis and some of her limbs were affected
She had a hard childhood but loved to paint greeting card with her mother
Later she lived with her aunt who was unkind to her.
She decided to apply for a Housekeeper job in the Country and was accepted by Everett Lewis Fisherman who had a Smallholding too
He treated her like most men of that generation did, with indifference
Through all here trails and tribulations she did her work she had a lovely disposition and painted in all her free time which was her greatest joy
They lived in a tiny 12 x 12 ft House with some out houses
She covered the walls in the House with her art and Everett did not seem to mind he though they were very childish. Later they married
She sold a few cards and small paintings outside her home for a few cents and visitors then started to buy lots of them She had no formal art training
First she used left over house pain to paint the view from her window of the countryside with horses, cows, cats her husband working, horses and carts, all in vivid colours
Later She used pure colour straight from the tube
Trained Artists are told never to do this, as it is too strong
but it works in her paintings
They are now worth $16.000 $20.0000

Nice story Azure.
It makes you wonder why people with everything under the Sun are never satisfied or happy. and have to resort to drugs or alcohol to get through the day, when some people like Maud, who was often in pain as well, are happy with so little comfort or money.
