Good gracious they would come up to my neck.
They had bustles and ruffles and all sorts in those days, under their clothes. Anyway, I do believe that men wore similar.

Cheer up Swimmy. Go and choose one of those Jobs for fun.
Not all are listed, maybe you would like to be a namer of clouds.

I think a lot of females worked from home if they could.
I suppose it depends in which part of the country they lived.
I have no idea about many of those jobs.
Even Google gets lost.

Judd, she can curdle milk with a glance.

She is an equal opportunity purveyor of nastiness, she is just as bad with the women as she is with the men.

I think I might be a secret Maker of sand views, but I shall carefully hide any accidental explanation as to why

Sheep are brought down off the mountains to lamb on the lowlands.

It is very commonplace with Welsh sheep being brought here every year to lamb.

They are fed stubble turnips, 3 acres of stubble turnips will feed 100 sheep for a month.

The turnip shepherds are those who lamb them during this time it is a useful bit of extra income for the farms.

My Ex MIL used to take 100 ewes a year on her small farm when husband was alive and wanted me to continue with it.

No way when you have a job and are trying to cram the farm work in as well.

Lambing is exhausting.
That's just as interesting as can be. In California (where I grew up), the sheep were brought down into the valleys, but I never recall the term "turnip shephard", probably because the sheep i were foraging on alfalfa, native grasses and clover instead

A lesson learned and appreciation for the hard work.

Thanks, swimfeeders.
