Re: Windows 10’s “April 2018 Update.”

It's a computer! It's supposed to be intelligent! I paid half a fortune for it.............so WHY does it need me to sit next to it and click on stuff when it downloads stuff? Why isn't it intelligent enough just to get on with it??

Don't trust your machine to do anything on it's own. Today's autonomous PC is tomorrow's SkyNet. You have been warned.

My computer told me it had updated to the April edition but I have to say that I have never noticed how long these updates take.

If they warn me that the computer needs to be restarted which it does) I tell it to do it after I have gone to bed. Easy.

Mine is a Lenovo too, actually all my computers are Lenovos come to think of it.

I haven't looked at what improvements it offers I merely check that it hadn't turned on any of the facilities I turn off. I certainly will never use the new 'timeline' feature.

One thing you might want to turn off is the new Activity History

Unless you don't care that M$ knows what you are doing on your PC.

Thanks. Just checked that and unchecked 'Let Windows collect my activities from this PC'.

Call me paranoid, but somehow I just don't trust Microsoft.
