Long Range Tank
Have you ever fitted a long range tank to your car?
At the moment my Isuzu Dmax holds 72litres of fuel but you can get a 127L or 150l tank fitted - it depends how much ground clearance you want to keep - the former leaves the same clearance as the present tank; the latter you lose a few cm.
Fitting the 127 litre tank would increase the range of my vehicle to 1200km from its current 700km. When travelling the longest distance I have seen without fuel is 545km but 250km to 300km is common though I carry an extra 20 litres in a jerry can. The problem with having to fill at roadhouses is that they charge like wounded bulls $1.60/L (80p/L)
and more was common when the average price of fuel elsewhere was less than $1.30/L (65p/L) at the time.
Have you fitted a long range tank? was it worth the expense?
