It was certainly nothing to do with which is the most important species in your eyes.
Most of us have seen your thoughts on animals many times in the past, so no need to provoke more arguments about it now.
To me, any life is important, I'd have felt the same if it had been a budgie left to die.
The species is irrelevant, it was the stupid, selfish, arrogant, no remorse, owner's attitude after being caught that rattled the copper even more, and I don't blame him for one second. Her attitude was appalling.

Dogs especially, are loving animals and loyal to the owners. It's easy to forget they too have emotions.

Whenever we take our girls in the car when it’s hot we bring an extra set of keys and leave the car running with the air conditioning on and periodically check on them if we are out shopping. In the winter we leave the heat on, and they not only have warm doggie beds but also double lined fleece coats.They are very well cared for. These are our kids regardless of what anyone else thinks.

You leave your car with the keys in the ignition ???

Good grief Bratti, I wouldn't dare do that here.
Apart from anything else, if the car was broken into, I would think any insurance claim would be invalid because the keys were left in and they would say it was an open invitation to criminals.
