Jpeg

All images from my digi cameras are saved in JPEG. Now, the images from my SD 16GB card can't be saved, an Error message box appears. However, I can still save the image if I use TIFF.

I have checked the SD card with Privzer and no faults. So, I took the same photographs with another Olympus using a CF card, but still the same.

Can't use TIFF files with this site, so any suggestions please?

Thanks
Mike

Re: Jpeg

Your card may be corrupt Mike, they do occasionally, have wobblys.

I used to convert the Tiff files after working on them to Jpegs to put on sites.

Re: Jpeg

What happens if you drag and drop the jpegs from the SD or CF cards into a newly created folder on the computer's Desktop? That should just copy them to the folder and they can be opened as jpegs from there.

Also, what happens if you double-click a jpeg file on the SD or CF cards? The file should open in your default image editor or viewer.

If those suggestions don't work, TIFF is a common file format that most image editors will be able to open. A workaround would be to open the TIFF in an image editor, reduce the image size to suit the forum (675 pixels wide) and then save as a jpeg.

Re: Jpeg

this is one of the reasons I wanted a Nikon D800 series camera. having two memory card slots both saving the same photo(one RAW other Jpeg) there is less chance of the above happening

Re: Jpeg

Thanks for you replies. I have taken the SD card and memory stick downstairs and switched on my HP Probook. Tried to save the image as JPEG and no problem. Seems as thought the desktop has a problem. Could I try Check Disk to see if W7/64 has a problem lurking ?
