Re: My latest 'Toy'

I haven't used a pressure cooker in years and in the hot weather we are having right now I have to admit I'm not tempted to buy one

I associate pressure cookers with winter type cooking same as slow cookers ....stews and casseroles that sort of thing are not on my radar right now

I might take a peek at them when the weather gets colder though

Cold weather sneaks up on you, up here. A couple of years ago there was still a trace of snow on the local ben (mountain) at the beginning of June! But anyway. I can eat a chicken/lamb tikka masala at any time.

Re: My latest 'Toy'

And in our village, there is one Chinese restaurant which has been running for years but is quite pricey.

And one Indian restaurant which keeps changing owners then closing down for six months at a time. So, one has to do ones own cooking. Or go without!

(Sighs) life is hard!

Re: My latest 'Toy'

I feel your pain FM, we have to travel miles for a Chinese and Ive given up trying to find an Indian restaurant within 20 miles that sells Indian restaurant food, its all too mild and sweet

I make a cracking chicken tikka masala using the Hairy Bikers recipe. It tastes just like how I remember chicken tikka masala to taste. Their curry book is the one book I always have in the kitchen

Simple! You just chuck everything in the pot. Bung the lid on and press go. Even a 50 year old could do it!
