Not guilty !!! - apparently he slipped on ice. The article doesn't tell us who poured the water over the area that caused the ice though.
And yes matey, notwithstanding the Italian name - I do believe it was him:
A vet who became notorious for sharing snaps of trophy kills including a lion has died – after slipping on ice and plunging 100ft to his death on a hunt.
