Recommendations please
We've tried many cordless ones Rachel none do a good job not one of them picked up more than a little dust. I can't recommend any at all.

The corded sticks are far better but still not as good as a regular vac.

Aha ... thanks Julie. That's a shame.

Re: Henry vacuum cleaner?

The G Tech Air ram claims it lasts 40 minutes when fully charged but in reality it lasts for about 30 minutes. Anyone who has pets will know that is not good enough. It takes me an hour to properly vacuum the whole house.

Apart from that, how is it at picking up?
I just want something easy for upstairs ...

You will find you have to keep going back and forward for ages to get an area clean Rachel. It's not up to the job IMO

Hmmmmm ... def giving it a miss then

Are there any fairly small/lightweight uprights you think are OK ?

My upstairs vacuum is a cheap cylinder one from Tesco's.
It's OK ish but I have to use a clothes peg to stop the cable whizzing back into the machine

Re: Henry vacuum cleaner?

Right, I now have a Henry HVR 200 vacuum cleaner - £40 from my local secondhand shop

There is a flexible hose, but no metal tubes or other tools
However, I've been on t' Net and you can get a generic accessories set for about £12

The filter looks in good condition, I'll just give it a wash

Thanks for your advice & comments

Vax do lighter weight corded uprights most of them are ok. Also we had a Bosch we were all very impressed with but it was a big price tag.
