Sorry to hear that.

I passed a young adder the other day on the side of the road when out jogging. I shooed it into the verge. Quite a rare sight really.

Thankfully all we have in our area is the garter snake. But even those give me the heebie-greebies.

Thank you for the replies all. It really was a very sad occurrence. The trouble is that Pia blames herself for not thinking, or noticing, the snake bite. Since I am now the "adopted" mum, I have to keep reassuring her that it really wasn´t her fault.

How horrible we have lots of Adders here on the hills I am always on the look out when out with the dogs...
