Sorry to hear that.

I passed a young adder the other day on the side of the road when out jogging. I shooed it into the verge. Quite a rare sight really.

Thank you for the replies all. It really was a very sad occurrence. The trouble is that Pia blames herself for not thinking, or noticing, the snake bite. Since I am now the "adopted" mum, I have to keep reassuring her that it really wasn´t her fault.

In all fairness, I can understand that though clumsy.
I think I would blame myself too, no matter how unreasonable .
