How lovely, Mups, I never knew that Beddies were born black.

Well most pups have a sort of cloudy bluish eye when they can first open them at around 10 days-ish. Then as they become able to focus they usually change to the final colour.

All my Beddies have a nice dark eye, except Gertie (the brown one), and her eyes are a sort of lemony-brown.

Re: My Beddie Pups

The love of my life, my Elmo, had baby blue eyes when he first opened them, but his turned a beautiful rich golden colour as you can see, exactly the same colour as his coat.
The KC breed standards say that is wrong, but I couldn't give a toss about them. I think I would have died for that dog, and him for me. My marriage was on the rocks and he was all I had.
A very, very special boy who died in my arms at home. Broke my heart.

Re: My Beddie Pups

Thanks for sharing your pics of those gorgeous puppies Mups and Elmo of course. I had no idea they were born black and then changed colour. the first time I saw a Beddie, which was about 30 years ago on my housing estate, I honestly thought a lamb had escaped.

Re: My Beddie Pups

The Beddies are gorgeous Mups, I'm amazed how they change colour from birth. Are there no adult black Beddies?

Elmo was a stunning GSD, simply beautiful. What made you decide to choose the Beddie breed after GSDs?

Hi

Owners do look like their dogs, a scientific fact.

Do you look anything like the bedlington owner in the link above?

Thanks mups, we used to have a boy jack Russell x Lakeland who had one blue eye and one brown. He started off with blue eyes so I just wondered if that was normal.
