Wilting flowers and struggling shrubs

Very sad to see so many flowers and shrubs struggling in this heat. They have had plenty of water but it's as though they can't cope as they are not desert plants. Does anyone have any advice or anything that's worked for you to perk up sun scorched buds?

Don't think there is much else we can do except feed and water Annie, though it's never the same as having a good rain on them though, is it.
It's just too hot. I really hope it cools down soon.

I've just been out to water my plants, it's still very warm out there and I feel drained so can't imagine what the poor plants must feel like We aren't forecast any rain until Friday .... in the meantime it looks like we'll have 30º tomorrow and 31º on Wednesday to cope with

Water, water, and more water, early in the morning and early evening. This reduces evaporation. Mulch around the plants can help by retaing the moisture. It's surprising how quickly plants will recover, but if this hot spell continues I am going to expect some losses.

I have been giving plenty of water in the evening around the base of the plants and then spraying the soil to dampen it down. A few plants have gone a bit crispy but overall the garden is ok so far.

Lost a few plants to this heat, as we were away for a few days could not water them.

When I got back yesterday watered the base and then a good watering last night. Will do them again tonight. Such a shame as they were looking so lovely before we went.
