If it's possible to see through to the other side I've been told that they can mistake it for a tunnel or such like

Some young birds will be starting to fly about now too so it could explain it?
Or not. ..

You can buy decals to stick on the window if that helps.

Yes, I think quite a few people do that eccles. It seems to help from what I can make out.

I also think Rhian's comment about fledgling makes sense too.
Are they very young birds Swims?

Thirdly, I like Muddy's comment - your windows are too clean!

Perhaps if Nom sees this thread, he might offer a solution.

I would open the windows and let them in, but I don't think Sue would like another flighty girl in our house

Yes we have had Sparrows flying into our windows, but I think they are babies that have just learnt to fly. I found a Female Adult Blackbird the other day dead in my garden just under my kitchen window and was wondering what had happened to her because I couldn't find any marks on her at all.

Windows can reflect the sky, trees, bushes etc and birds think they are flying towards open ground. They don't realise until too late to apply their air brakes.

That makes sense EZ. Yes, I like that reasoning.
