Yes it was the greatest political victory of all time for the Tories. Go into the election with a majority of ten return with a hung parliament having to bribe the DUP, and ditch their manifesto.

A wonderful achievement.

Congratulations.

A win is a win BruvMan

318 seats was just a mere 8 shy of a majority.

262 seats on the other hand was utterly abysmal and the same number Looney Labour achieved in the 2010 election, and this time they had the aid of thousands of young voters and tactical remainers.

A catastrophe in any rational analysis.

Maybe I've got it wrong, I thought if we had another election now Labour would get in, but on second thoughts if you take the Conservative manifesto cock up plus the worst election strategy in memory plus the Labour 'bribe' to the youngsters and even then Labour still got hammered, I think the Conservatives would win hands down.

Re: "But You Still Lost"

If I recall correctly the Conservatives got 56 more seats than Labour. The reason the majority is so thin is down to other parties the Liberals and SNP seats. I'm upretty sure they had a million or so more votes too.

Incedentally if the Conservatives had received a total of 401 votes in total, in the constituencies they lost by the odd few they would have had an outright majority.

The reason for the election was to get a strong mandate, the polls showed they would get a hundred majority.

Explain where all those seats disappeared to.

Whichever way you translate the figures it's an embarrassment.

The reason for any election is to canvass the views of the nation and determine which party can achieve the greatest number of seats and votes.

They canvassed the nation and the nation spoke, loud and clear. They said:

"No f***ing way is that Looney Corbyn and his side kick Abbott going to run this country and negotiate BrExit for us!"

They went to other parties. That happened because lots of Remainers co-ordinated to try and scupper BrExit. They used a general election as a tool for anarchy. It should be noted that the "other parties" in that equation are many and varied. It varied according to individual constituencies. They simply voted for whatever party in that constituency would enable the Tories to lose. The votes were not in any way votes of support for the party in question.

Whichever way you translate the figures it's an embarrassment.
I totally agree !

Looney Labour being unable to get any more seats than they did 7 years ago in the 2010 election is an utterly embarrassing situation. It's a devastating loss any way you cut it. If you remove the tactical Remainer votes from the equation it would likely have been one of the worse Looney Labour losses in history ! Thank Corbyn for that result.
