house prices

Just checked ours on Zoopla. Can't believe it has just gone up £23,000 since last week. Something must be wrong somewhere

Re: house prices

That does sound a lot. But prices have started going up in rentals here last couple of weeks, a friend was looking at a one bed in the morning it was £995 a month by afternoon when she'd made up her mind it was listed at £1195 ! Out of her comfort zone so she's looking again at studios

Re: house prices

we could not afford to buy our house at todays price, luckily we could just about at the time of purchase for cash, so no mortgage.

Our humble abode

Spent a small fortune in getting it up to a decent standard. Those longer standing members will remember how much we had to do.

Looks as if the gulley there needs a clean out, wil have to see what i can do tomorrow with the skyvac

Re: house prices

Properties have been on a steady climb here throughout 2017 ... they're almost matching what they were when they peaked about a decade ago.
Can't help thinking the market's going to stutter soon, especially if further interest rate rises are on the cards.

Re: house prices

Just sky vaced the front gutters and got 0.25 of a bag full and gee was it heavy with wet leaves etc. There are 5 gutters to do including the garage one in the front.

Tomorrow afternoon got a plumber to sort out the main bathroom shower. it starts of at warm then goes cold. Looks like a thermostate fault

Other bit of gossip is the postman put a letter through the box and broke the flap inside. Think it was ready to break as it never shut properly against the draught excluding brushes. So got a new one on order exactly the same with a 5 yr warranty on it

Always something needs doing

Re: house prices

I dare not look at the house I sold this year as I know I made a cock up not hanging on another 12 months.

It's all relative in the end.

I feel for 1st time buyers, I really do.
