Foster failure. Again.

This little dude is one of a litter of 5 that were left at a shelter when they were approximately 5 weeks old.
They were all malnourished, and in an overall sick condition.
Six weeks later, and they're now all doing just fine.
This one is full of all the normal puppy mischief!
I forgot how sharp those little puppy teeth are!
He's a mutt. But with those eyes looks to have some Siberian Husky in him.
And has webbed feet, so possibly some Lab too?
(Our Newfies have webbed feet too!)
Whatever he is, he's a solid wee dude!

He's wormed his way into our hearts, so yep, he's staying!
Mungo's really taken to him too, so we hope the pup will help him gain more confidence over time.
Meet Chester.

I couldn't decide which pictures to post, so you're getting all this lot!

What a super pup Jackie, definitely some husky looking at the eyes and looks like he will be a big dog when he's grown. Here's to many happy years for you both together.

Ahhh, gorgeous

lovemyboys, sorry, I don't know much about you, do you regularly foster?

I'm probably in a good position to do the same but...I'd end up keeping them all

Thanks Barry!
We think he's gonna be a good size. The paws sure are! And he's solid as a rock!

That's exactly what my husband called him - a bruiser. Just not little!
He's definitely keeping us on our toes!

I used to do it all the time for about 25 years, and did a better job of it too - kept some, but knew my limit.
Then I stopped all together - got out of rescue too. Multiple reasons why, but mostly it had become too political. Too many people wanting control, and forgetting it was about the dogs.
We didn't foster for many years until about 7 months ago, a very scared Newfie - we ended up keeping our Mungo!

Re: Foster failure. Again.

Meaning of foster ? Take in a waif needs looking after for a few days or weeks, look in those big eyes full of love and fear, fall headlong in love as they worm their way into your heart.

Is that it or have I got it wrong ?
