No it was for absolute lies made up to bring a man down. Would be good to see the forum make that clear in the threads begun about the rubbish too.

A different perspective.

Julie there is absolutely no reason to label whole sections of society as 'nasty scumbags' just because you don't agree with their politics , that could be classed as lies too unless you can prove they are all.

Ok exactly what do you an intelligent person think he had to give to anyone back then ? Look at it sensibly he was an isolated back bench MP not liked by most of the party. What information could he possibly have had to give.

An apology doesn't necessarily mean there was no foundation for the accusation, just that his comments were over the top. It is still true that he met with these people, an irresponsible act in its self.

But you say nothing about the looney labour or other insults. It looks to me like mods can stop all this quite simply. Appealing to me asking that question I'd like to know what you expect me to do about it ? I've said many times it has to stop, I've argued til I'm blue in face not everyone within a party is the same. What more can a member do ? You have the power I don't.
