Diamonds

My husband bought the diamonds cd for me all elton John's important tracks on one album. Really lovely.

I knew he'd been prolific but you really get a lot from this album.

For a moment there Julie I thought you meant 'Diamonds' by Jet Harris and Tony Mehan, one of my all time favourites....

Diamonds has all the usual Elton John tracks on it which is basically a re-run of all his other greatest hits collections. All the classics are there.
But I'm always quite perplexed as to why the period 1979-1981 is never included. There were two excellent albums, 21 At 33 and The Fox which had some fine material on them. Here's probably my favourite Elton track from 1980:

He had some very bad periods in his life drink and drugs trying to live a lie he was straight. Perhaps he just wants to forget sometimes ?
