Nom, I have seen Ken Dodd twice. He doesn't let you leave the building until after midnight!
His jokes are non stop! He's great for remembering all those jokes at nearly 90 years of age!

You know what Artangel.
I always did enjoy Ken Dodd on the television, but sadly I have never seen him live, and I know I have missed out. The thing with him was that he didn't need any foul language or smut to help him tell a cracking joke.
Oh! and of course he did record this great song which was a big hit for him.
HAPPINESS, HAPPINESS !!!
Happiness, happiness, the greatest gift that I possess
I thank the Lord I've been blessed
With more than my share of happiness
To me this world is a wonderful place
And I'm the luckiest human in the whole human race
I've got no silver and I've got no gold
But I've got happiness in my soul
Happiness to me is an ocean tide
Or a sunset fading on a mountain side
A big old heaven full of stars up above
When I'm in the arms of the one I love
Happiness, happiness, the greatest gift that I possess
I thank the Lord that I've been blessed
With more than my share of happiness
Happiness is a field of grain
Turning its face to the falling rain
I can see it in the sunshine, I breathe it in the air
Happiness happiness everywhere
A wise old man told me one time
Happiness is a frame of mind
When you go to measuring my success
Don't count my money count my happiness
Happiness, happiness, the greatest gift that I possess
I thank the Lord I've been blessed
With more than my share of happiness
Happiness, happiness, the greatest gift that I possess
I thank the Lord I've been blessed
With more than my share of happiness
Ooooooo Lubbly Jubbly for you TPin, and good morning campers!
The weather there in mid/late April should be just about right for you. Not too hot, and not cold.
We haven't been abroad for a couple of years now, mainly because of my heart operation, but now I appear to be in full health, I am looking to get down to Benidorm for a week or two in April/May.
Mind you, here is Rhos On Sea, North Wales the SUN is shining and we are off out soon for a lovely long walk along the coast. When it is like this, and will be around 14 degrees later, who needs abroad?
In the meantime, I hope everyone has a lovely Sunny day with Sunny things happening as well.
It occurred to me that Ken Dodd hadn't been knighted like many other celebrities of his time. He has completed over 60 years as a performer, working tirelessly to making people laugh.
I wonder if it was to do with the Inland Revenue thing which he jokes about in his act!

I saw him in panto just after the tax affair, his first words were "lend us a quid"
As you previously stated, he did ad lib somewhat.
His co-stars were laughing so much they forgot their lines.
We were kicked out of the theatre at midnight because of insurance and licensing laws having not seen the end, did we feel cheated? Nope, he was brilliant and I've never ached so much from laughter.
