Different Drs

Like many others on this site I have several health issues, and attend different clinic/hospitals. Im very grateful for the care I receive but do wish there was one regular person I could relate to re any concerns /problems on general matters as/when I need to , instead of seeing a different person each time. My own named GP is very good but she is only at the surgery three mornings a week and is very popular,so it takes weeks to get an appointment with he, theother Drs have left the practice and new ones keep coming in,but they dont stay long,only there to get experience,I dont even know their names

I have the same problem, but luckily don't go often. I think most surgeries are like this now. I know a lot of our Doctors work elsewhere in medicine too, like the hospitals on the days they aren't being a GP, as they are also specialists in various fields.

Same here, Deylon & Tiff, it is not easy to book for the same one twice.

It is easier to always see the same vet than it is the same doctor.

I'm afraid, where health is concerned, you are probably on your own, that is not good, but, maybe so.

Since moving I've had to change doctors. Long waiting time to see my doctor and even then its pointless as she's too busy typing to listen. 😞

After big blow up over not getting a good service, they cut off my medication so cold turkey on blood pressure meds and tramadol lovely week that was, I've managed to see same doctor each time I need to. I think sometimes we need to just get damned angry and insist on things. They aren't doing us a favour they are paid to provide care.

Where I live a few of the doctors surgeries have moved into a new building opposite the hospital and is now a medical centre.

Since they have moved in together I have not been but will have to go towards the end of the year for my yearly flu jab and to see the asthma nurse for a check up. As I get repeat prescriptions sent directly to the chemist it has made it so much easier. I am one of those people who so far don't have to go to doctors very often which I am so pleased about.

Mind you went to pick my repeat prescriptions up from the chemist on Friday and was so shocked when I did not have to pay for them. Was told they are free now I am 60 I did not know that.
