Thanks again Meg, I have a meds review coming up so I will see what my GP has to say.

Meg, my score is >3. I've just been looking at a website explaining Afib and Aflutter, and it mentioned that chadvasc. As it was on the note to the GP (they gave me a copy) I noticed my score.

Both my younger sister and my BiL are on the Bisoprolal. Sis has just had hers increased, and her BP is still very high, but she is being carefully monitored and medicated. (She had the kidney transplant in 2005 and also has heart valve problem.)

Not been able to speak to brother yet so don't know whether he or SiL are on it too.

Many thanks for your replies and comments.

I have been asked to phone surgery after 4 on Monday to see if the prescription clerk has queried it with the GP and sent it to the pharmacy.

I was asked, do I suffer pain (no), have I had thyroid problem (no), how much alcohol do I drink (very rarely), how often do I get symptoms and what does it feel like (very difficult to explain!).

Seems I was right to see the GP back in April (or thereabouts) and not ignored it.

Hi Jazzi You may find the videos by Dr Gupta the York Cardiologist useful. He explains all about NOACs which are prescribed instead of Warfarin these days.

He has made lots of informative videos also on You Tube.

Re: My Cardiology appointment today

That's good news Jazzi. My mum has AF and they offered her cardioversion which can shock the heart back into sinus rhythm. She didn't go ahead in the end, but it's only really proven if you have it soon after diagnosis. Hers is well controlled with the beta blocker. She also takes rivaroxaban, a blood thinner that self regulates so you don't need regular blood tests. Strangely enough she had her cardio appointment today and all is well at the moment.

The blood thinners are a pain. She cut her finger a couple of weeks ago and it was spurting blood through the plaster and gauze for ages. I had to do a really secure padded gauze dressing for her. It was only a small cut.

You should be able to get travel insurance with AF. I have a colleague who has it and travels all over the world.

Re: My Cardiology appointment today

Thanks Meg. Started to watch the video but only managed a minute or two.

Annie, I've heard of that procedure, and have watched it on telly, probably on Holby or Casualty! Lol.
