Re: Private Hygienists

I see a hygienist about three times a year at a cost of £40 per appointment. She works for a private dentist and is really good. The private dentist is registered as a specialist in Restorative Dentistry and she has overcome problems I had with some faulty implants with various crowns, caps and bridges.

ALL dentists should be registered with the General Dental Council and you can search their registers on: https://olr.gdc-uk.org/SearchRegister

I also have a policy with Westfield Heath which costs about £19 per month, but allows me to claim back about £150 pa on Dental costs; £120 on Optical; up to £650 on various therapies and lots of other benefits which I haven't needed as yet. That probably works out less than paying DenPlan and covers a great deal more.
