Excellent idea. How do they stop sea creatures being sucked in with the garbage?

Sea creatures generally don't swim near the surface of the sea but it's pretty easy to empty so they could fish ( no pun intended ) out.

That's a good idea and reminds me of a pond skimmer.

Skimmers of that size would be useful floating around harbours but I wonder if they could make huge ones to clean the oceans?

Heard about this tother day on the radio, nice to see it in action a good idea.

The damage to our sealife and birds caused by plastic waste is a growing problem

Re: Sea Bin Waste Collecter

Since two surfers came up with the idea, it has to be a good one .

Seriously though, you can't imagine the amount of garbage and debris I come across in the ocean, so I'm open to any good idea.

This invention is interesting, but I wonder what fuels the pumps? The animals that I can think that would be harmed by this would be the Portiguese Man of'war, Vellela, small bait fish, and baby sea turtles. For that reason, these pumps might be better used in lakes and around marinas as shown in the video.
