It's a good job you're not able to run at the moment Surfermom, it would have been difficult in those circumstances.....Jumping over fallen trees and splashing through flood water....Only joking.....glad you have come through it safe and with no major damage.....I don't think security would have let me through the airport with my toolbox when I came to help.....

Thank you Artangel. It was much ado about nothing. What you endured with your recent surgery was worse and I'm pleased to see you on the mend!

Ruthio, the winds were reported to be about 75 MPH sustained with stronger gusts. That hardly gets attention around here.

Terrible news on the news today about the fires in California and the tremendous loss of property and 10 lives (I think).

Our fires are often bigger and can lead to loss of live but generally because of the sparsity of population even massive fires can burn with only minor property damage.

Having said that when they are near populated areas they can be deadly. The Black Saturday bush fires only a few years ago killed 174 people and the Ash Wednesday fires killed about 75. Awful things bush fires no matter where they occur.
