A bit of good news (for a change)

This was in todays newspaper.
'Commuters here will be among the first in Europe to enjoy free web access on public buses.
Dublin Bus plans to install wi-fi technology on it's 900 vehicles before the end of the year.
The service is commonly found in airports, coffee shops and hotels.'
Lets hope we all have it by the end of the year.

If this catches on some folks may miss their stop and ride the bus round the route a few times.

Is this an early April Fool's joke Jem? How on earth do you get broadband onto a bus in the first place, without a b****y long cable going back to the depot..

Thanks for reminding me about April fools day Barry, I'll get to work on this years one right away. Yes the internets free but the cable will cost you a fortune.

But it will be a guide to get home if you lose your way Barry.

Maybe they are going to re-introduce tram cars in Dublin then the cable can be zip strapped to the power line, now that should produce some interesting 'elth & safety issues

That part is easy Barry using a wireless router generating a wi-fi network onboard. A simple 3G cellphone can do that.

Beware such networks as it's easy for hackers to monitor your use of such networks and possibly steal any unprotected information, ie. bank accounts, passwords, address books and your personal information.

That's one reason why I don't use them
