I bought a very nice reefer jacket today in the sales but why were the pockets sewn up? I have found this with other items of clothing i have purchased over the years so why do they do this?
I think its so that if anyone tries the jacket on they cant put their hands in the pockets and make them "baggy" if you see what I mean...it just keeps the clothes in tip top condition for the buyers.

Absolutely !!!
Gawd knows what sort of 'muck' might be deposited in them
I do enjoy being concise, although my nature is to call a spade a spade ... I choose not to elaborate
I had the same thing happen to me years ago when i bought a trouser suit, i thought they must have forgotten to snip the thread to release the pocket.. Never mind i did it myself but had to be careful.
