Hopefully, we'll be able to get us back in quickly and undo the damage you've done so there won't be a hundred years, or five or ten of poverty outside the EU.

In a hundred years, Brexiters and Remainers will be long gone, but history will look back and marvel at how the Brexiteers could have been so short sighted, stupid and self-detructive and at the harm they were willing to do the UK and the next generation.

And I'm sure the arrogant Brexiters, despite having been proved wrong, will turn in their graves to accuse the next generation of whinging and being traitors.

I expect the destruction of the current government to happen quite soon.

A house divided against itself cannot stand.

Corbyn will very likely gain power and return the UK to a closer relationship with the EU along the lines of Norway and Switzerland.

I'm not a socialist but almost anything is better than a government of rightist zealots like Mogg.

The damage the Conservatives have done to themselves and the UK over Europe is considerable they won't be forgiven by the electorate.

The older generation of Brexiteers will soon pass leaving a more forward looking, better educated modern electorate not so easily led up the garden path.

Remainers should not give up, it's not hopeless

Dismissive and arrogant post. Typical Remain supporter.

Luckily life expectancy is ever increasing so all the Remain voters will live on for decades yet whereas all the Snowflakes will have topped themselves.

Bring on The Brexit!

Being a member of Nato is the best security for the UK.

Far from being lonelier, the Salisbury Incident has brought the USA, Germany and France shoulder to shoulder with the UK........
The USA aren't in the EU and we are leaving thereby proving the EU is irrelevant to our security and irrelevant to the security of the other 230 countries on the planet outside the EU.

Your post highlights the ignorance and fantasies many Remainers have regarding the EU. Amazing how easily indoctrinated some, especially the young can be.
It's not about having combat capability but political/economic union of the type we see in the EU takes democratic peace theory to another level. Enemies would rejoice in European countries being at war with each other because that leads to fragmentation and weakness. A union of a large number of nations at peace with each other is deemed a threat to predators because it stops them gaining power. You can knock the idea but lasting peace in those nations within the EU pretty much proves the theory is sound.

Nato proves the theory.

The EU muddies the waters.

National security is the responsibility of each individual nation not the EU.

Both organisations have the same roots and same objectives - political and economic stability, prosperity and peace within the boundaries of the alliances. It was a good solution to a difficult problem that had caused endless death and destruction in the region. It kept the Soviet threat in check.

The EU has simply lost its way a bit, it's not a bad idea just needs to rethink its recent approach.

But it's not just about military might but also about prosperity. Without economic stability and prosperity nations can go rogue.

Hi

Nobody knows what the economic effects of Brexit will be long term.

Short to Medium Term, they will be down to the type of Trade Deals our Government can negotiate, not only with the EU but also with others, in particular all those countries we already have deals with as part of the RU.

I agree that economic progress and stability is key to peace.
The EU works against that by acting as a closed shop and putting up trade barriers.
They want peace and stability for the 27 and stuff the rest of the world.

Nato is open to all and protects all.

It has 29 full members.

It has 9 official Partners across the globe

It has 4 members in the Gulf Co-operation Council

It has 7 Partners in the Med Dialogue Council

It has 21 Partners ( In addition to full members) of the Euro Atlantic Pertnership Council.

Like I said the megolamaniac Empire building of the EU just muddies the waters , adds nothing of value and is not
welcome.

It's control freakery in the extreme.

You WILL see the light eventually, Annie!
