Positive Input Ventilation

Has anyone got a PIV installed?

If I decide to stay in this Godforsaken bungalow, I'm wondering whether to go down this route both for the condensation/humidity levels and the fresh air angle.

I've done so much reading up over the last few months and am seriously thinking of saving up for it. But I'm not sure about certain things ie what if the loft air isn't 'fresh', perhaps because there are no air vents. The filters would need cleaning, and there's no way I'm going into a loft. I've seen one for apartments etc where they go through the wall instead.

To stop my mind going round in circles... anyone?

It's a minefield quite frankly.
Nu-Aire are one of the leaders.
I'd go for a heat recovery system though.
It can be quite pricey and new filters are not cheap.

If you want to go this route, I can put you in direct contact with my contact at nu-aire.
He could tell you more and quote you direct if you like.

Thanks for your reply fender...yes, I've been reading up on NuAire ones. I've been through so many sites both for and against. Don't think the heat recovery is the one for me though and anyway, too expensive.

I've read up and watched a guy installing one on youtube. He covers a lot of questions but not the ones I have.

Yes please chuck...it'd be good if you know someone. As long as he doesn't shove my arm up my back to have one

Sorry Pesta for my flippant reply.

I'm not a fan, I think it's overrated BS.

Your house shouldn't be that bad, really.

I'd be tempted to add more insulation to your loft first

Has Pesta got a lift as well as a loft in her bungalow then?

I hope you mean loft there

You have to live here to know what I mean Tpin. I've never lived in a place like it for humidity levels

Edited to add - it's got to be cheaper than running the dehumidifier too.

Edited to add another:

Off to watch Paranoid, but will be back after that
