You really wouldn't say that if you had seen me and it's getting a bit cold here today

Re: Thought it was a scam !

All the information has now arrived it seems if I pay £5 a month I may be in line for about £24 a month when I retire, not sure what that would really be worth in 15 years time but it wouldn't buy much now so somehow I think it will be less by the time I am 67.

Although it would probably be enough to prevent me claiming any benefits so I think it is going to cause problems for a lot of people who don't realise they can opt out.

I got auto-enrolled on our work one but we were informed beforehand and I opted out but I know it'll come up again soon so I'll have to opt-out again!

I'm on 28 hours a week and earn just over £10,000 but this pension would provide me with about £3.00 per month @ 65 - bloody pointless but it makes the Government look as if they're trying to help the ordinary workers!

I'd have to work 'til I was 90 for it to be any real benefit to me!

Julie

Just opt out. Pensions are money making scams for trustees and anyone but you. If I had my time again I would never have joined a pension scheme. Live frugally, simply, curb wants and desires. Neither a lender nor a borrower be.

I work for Tesco and they have just started a new pension scheme where I can pay in 4% and up to 7.5% and Tesco will match it. I was advised to pay in 7.5% but at the age of 56 I'm wondering if it is worth it. I don't have much of a pension built up as I've only worked for Tesco for 3.5 years and never really stuck with a job long enough to build up any sort of pension. Is it too late? I think it is but have never found anyone who could give me good advise. Interested to hear what you wise people would advise.
