THIS IS ME
This is me, what can you see?
A modest chap, wears summer hats.
Good grief, I am overweight!
Something in others I look in the mirror and I see
The same old ghost following me
It can be brooding and malevolent
Other times something my mind invents
Sometimes welcome, as when my dad
Comes back to relive the life he had
An appearance granted once for me
When I was nearly fifty
Here’s the face you deserve at forty
We have all been good and oh so naughty
What goes round comes round again
What the hell, are you gonna do then
The end time is coming
No point in running
Will you end up in heaven or hell
No one has returned, so we cannot tell.
