Mince Pie

Ive just had my 1st mince pie of the season,Co-Op Brand , and it was full up to the lid ,really tasty .

Whats your favorite brand ?,paying more don't mean better in my opinion. They can be off putting if they are too buttery .

Re: Mince Pie

I wish I could say I made my own, but I'm hopeless at baking. I've had Co-op's before because it's my local shop and they've been very nice. I do like a mince pie with a cuppa.

I like Morrison's deep filled mince pies from their instore bakery.
I do make my own though, sometimes

Re: Mince Pie

I had one last week from a proper bakers

And I have to say the pastry was beautiful. The filling could have been a lot better when comparing it to the pastry, but all in all I scoffed it and enjoyed it

Re: Mince Pie

Mrs Fox has stocked up with Iceland mince pies, supposed to be very good, chances are they won't last until Christmas.

I was talking with my daughter today about mince pies and she also said the Iceland were the best she has ever tasted. I've never tried them myself but did think I might try them just to see is she's correct

Re: Mince Pie

My husband makes nicest mince pies, he puts an almond in the middle which makes them even tastier.
