Re: Christmas lights out and about

I went last Friday to Lutterworth where I used to live for the towns Christmas lights switch on. Its quite a big thing. They close the main road through the town. There's a small fair, charity stalls and shops stay open for late night shopping. On the main stage there's local children singing plus the local radio station. Father Christmas in his grotto and quite a few food stalls and mulled wine. Spent a pleasant evening there.
This Friday I'm going to Market Harborough's, where i live now, Christmas Lights. Never been been before so hope its good. I will try and take some photos.

These are the ones just as you come over the bridge and into the town. Not been into the centre after dark yet so not sure what's there this year..

Re: Christmas lights out and about

Well I have cut the Christmas Tree down, trimmed its bottom branches, also cut off about 2feet. Now got it into a Tub , filled Tub with shingle and fastened the top of the Tree to the Drainpipe . Lights are on it , 3 sets. Two other smaller trees to do tomorrow , these are two that I planted when we moved here 11 years ago. I will have to take the cable under the snow because if I were to put it up in the air we would have Mr . deer with big antlers getting tangled up in the lights. Switch on tomorrow so will post a picture then

Lovely photos all of them. The lights are up here too in many places. Easy to tell the house where the Germans live right now, they decorate very early and really go to town.

Re: Christmas lights out and about

Saw the first house round here with their outside lights up by the end of November.
Bit too early for me just yet.
