Where are they,the Swallows and Martins I mean,its early May and after at least 50 swallows leaving the factory where I work last autumn only three have come back,doesn't look good,I know S Africa had a severe drought,one reason one suspects.

We have had them up here, but in small numbers. Swallows being the most numerous, my friend noticed a steady movement of Swallows at the coast yesterday,i saw none inland.

Just out in the Garden a good half dozen passed over head on their way to somewhere,Swallows that is.

The Herons along the canal bank have got quite forward as time has gone on. Lots of people use the area and I think they have just got used to us all.

It's certainly keeping an attentive eye on me (and my brother).
