Brexit and the pound

I hear the pound has slumped rather badly - this could be a pound sterling or a pound of political flesh??

Re: Brexit and the pound

Hi

This is true, the £ is taking a battering, fuel prices are rising as oil and gas imports are priced in $.

Still, look on the bright side, when Pummy graces us with his presence , he will live like a king in this poor, impoverished land of ours,

He will be able to buy a couple of Catteries at a knockdown price,

I can remember the £ being equal to $5. Now it's around $1. Of course it's good for selling but ruinous for buying.

But the stock markets are doing well all very confusing but if you don't buy things that are imported I am assured it won't affect me at all. So I'll carry on and not worry too much.

Hi

The FTSE 100 has risen, yes, but that is solely due to the fact that many constituent Companies earn their profits abroad, so are 15 to 20% higher due to the fall in the £.

That will change if we have a hard Brexit.

Hi

So you don't buy petrol or diesel, or have gas heating?

Don't have a computer , mobile or TV?

Buy pasta, lemons or olive oil?

Just examples of things we import.

Brexit will cost us all money, at least for the next few years.

Well worth the price though.
