I've a friend who's a chef in the TA and he puts Marmite over the roasties and a little in the gravy

I'm a Marmite lover, so is my daughter.

But, it's gone off me so don't eat it now

A work colleague used to eat half a teaspoon of it every day...not spread on anything, just straight in her mouth

Re: The Marmite debate

I haven't eaten Martmite for years, I tend to use more Bovril nowadays.
I didn't used to mind it as long as it was spread thinly, bit too strong otherwise.

Nice with a bit of liver and onions too (as long as you don't overdo it)

Simple solution.
Go with the far-superior Vegemite.

Ma might. Pa will!
('Parwill' was renamed as Vegemite).

" 22 million jars of vegemite are sold in Australia every year while 50 million Marmite jars are sold in Britain per annum.
Break that down per capita and vegemite wins .....

Re: The Marmite debate

My parents always had a pot of Marmite in the cupboard, so my liking it goes back to as far as I can remember. I spread it on toast ..or mix it with peanut butter in a sandwich (something else done from childhood).
