Being temporarily Deaf

Hi

It is very strange, puts a whole new perspective on life.

No birdsong, no doorbell, no timer.

It makes you appreciate things.

I thought the NHS were sorting that out for you, Swimmy, has something gone wrong?

Life without music or birdsong would be dire.

Re: Being temporarily Deaf

It happend to me. All it was, was wax in my ears.
I went my Gp, he didn't do it anymore. I went the hospital, they never did it I had to go the walk-in. And all the time i'm telling them what's wrong with sign language and writing notes. The walk-in centre said they only do ears if you have an appointment .......... ok, make me an appointment. "Oh we can't do that, you have to phone". And i'm trying to tell them, i can't hear, i can't use the phone.
It's so embarrassing asking people to shout.

Hi

I saw a different specialist on Friday.

The infection was still present and she diagnosed a different cause!

My ears have now been packed, which is an antibiotic wick inserted and the ear is then sealed to prevent any water getting in.

I go back this Friday and until then I can hear nothing.

Oh, Swimmy how awful for you. I hope the antibiotics work.
Maybe you will need grommets.

You need to get them checked deylon. I am sure the local nurse could come to you and check.
