Very few British spiders are dangerous, native ones that in, in fact I don't think any are. They just look as if they should be.
I am so very glad I don't live in Australia, a lot of theirs are very dangerous. My nephew got bitten by a Funnel Web & nearly died.

How big was it, and how do you know it was a non-dangerous one? Nearly poo'd me pants just looking at the picture.

Lol...so did I . Had a look in my little critter book, thought it was a false widow at first but just a garden spider, with a body nearly an inch across!!!!

Thought it was a froglet caught in a web at first......without me specs, of course.

False widow spider live in houses, out buildings or sheds, they aren't outdoor spiders. I should know, we have a few here, mostly in the sun lounge. I think I'd freak out if I found one in the actual house.
