Re: New garage outside lights

Garage lights now working

as for roof it took the previous owner 2 years to get planning permission to raise the garage roof on that side. the area has various types of houses all with the same type of finish on the outside. So to get any sort of planning permission would be more trouble than it is worth.

In which case, I would be tempted to restore it to original.

Re: New garage outside lights

AS a pensioner the cost would be too much. not only was the doors made higher but all one side was widened as well by about 24 inches. That was continued back the whole 48 ft depth. So it would mean also moving a side wall/roof and door height. So as you can see there is a bit more to it to restore back to original.
Yes that would be the ideal agreed.
Just another example of a bodger hard at work. AS I said it took 2 years for planning permission and he had to race to get the doors done before we moved in. SO knowing he was going to move in the near future why on earth did he bother to alter things in the first place.

Did you see an example of a roof strut support which I am going to have to have a go at? Just another "to do " things to put right

Don't ask I don't have a clue either

I notice the Catnic Lintel above the garage door, talk about over engineering, who ever did that poured money down the drain.
