Burnt on food in saucepans? Soak with biological washing powder in water. Works a treat!

I used to soak tea stained cups in bleach but I now use Steradent tablets, 1 tablet in cup over night.
I think this is safer than bleach.

Most stains will come off with 'Bar Keepers Friend' cream cleaner, it is excellent stuff. If there is a really stubborn mark though, I soak for half an hour or so in Milton sterilizer.
