Yes I think this is a great idea.

Years ago before I started making cards, my mother was ill and couldn't get out of the house.
A friend of hers gave her a lovely little bag with a selection of birthday cards in it, a book of stamps and a pen.

I thought it was a lovely gift, and as they were used I used to go and buy her more.
