Simon Weston

Did anyone see Simon on 'Peoples Portrait' .....?

Saw the original docu when he was going through hell, I truly feared he would not make it but, here he is - happily married and full of life, his smile is a joy to behold.
The only downer for me, was the portrait of him to be hung in the National Gallery - did not do him justice, I hope he liked it ......

Agree with that Nom - I see he gives many talks to the youngsters and from what I saw of these - he had a huge impact on them - so that's good too

Re: Simon Weston

The problem for me is it didn't show his character - his stance at all.
A fair likeness, but that was it .....

Re: Simon Weston

I saw it on the news Patsy and what a lovely family Simon has. I am delighted to see he didn't allow his disability to hold him back.

I love the portrait, under lights the eyes glisten and for me show both the pain and the triumph over adversity experienced by Simon..

Re: Simon Weston

Hi Meg - funny aint it, has the opposite affect for me, he looks older and as though he's given up. Also looks like he has just returned from the pub and had a few.
That's how I see the portrait, looking at the man, I see a different Simon .....
