Strange these old monetary terms aren't they.
Another one I just thought of was the old shillings - called 'a Bob.'
Sixpence was 'a Tanner.'
Decimal coins don't seem to have the same endearments.

I was born in London actually Dobra, but nowhere near the east end.
I thought those monetary terms were used everywhere though.
