The first 45 I ever bought

We were chatting earlier and the subject came up about the first records we ever bought. The first one that I ever bought was Tower of Strength by Frankie Vaughan which I could still remember most of the lyrics to. I believe the flip side was a song called Rachel.

In fact I've just found it on YouTube
..

What was your first ever record purchase?

Mine was I Saw Linda Yesterday I can't remember who sang it but I had given all the money I had saved to my sister who was supposed to buy me the latest Beatles record but she bought me that instead, I was livid it took me ages to save up for it too.

Re: The first 45 I ever bought

My first 45 was SHERRY by the Four Seasons.

It cost 4/6 in old money.

I played it on my Danzette record player non-stop for about 2 weeks.

I swopped it for Rocking Goose by Johnny & the Hurricanes,
playing it non stop for about 2 weeks

We downsized 3 years ago & found them in the attic with about 200 other 45s.

I gave them to my son

He was delighted.
